Hurricane Ian is the latest in 31 years of natural disasters tied to the U.S. pressuring Israel to abandon the Abrahamic land covenant and give away land for peace.

Hurricane Ian was Inevitable
Before I even heard the name Ian, I knew it was coming.
Since 1991, when the U.S. has pressured Israel to give away land to the Palestinians for peace, immediate historic natural disasters struck residences in the U.S.
So I started investigating a coming disaster when I saw the headline in the Jerusalem Post on September 23rd stating, “Biden, Trudeau, welcome Lapid’s statement on the two-state solution.“
Backed by 31 years of history, I knew a historic disaster was about to strike, and based on the time of the year; it was likely to be a hurricane. The Atlantic hurricane season, which had been quiet so far, was about to explode.
Later that day, a tropical depression intensified into Tropical Storm Ian, and from the beginning, it targeted the U.S.
One day later, Canada suffered Fiona, the strongest storm in history to batter its shores.
Hurricane Ian has now entered the history books as the fourth strongest hurricane to hit Florida and possibly the costliest.
The pain, loss, and suffering are real, and we should do our part to help the recovery efforts. But after we recover, we must learn the lesson that God has been trying to teach us for over three decades.
So how can I be sure that this disaster is connected to Israel’s land?
Opposing God’s Covenant
You can find more background on this topic in the prior posts listed at the bottom, but here is a summary.
God promised the land of Israel to Abraham and his descendants (through Isaac) as an everlasting possession in Genesis 17. And though God exiled them for forsaking their covenant, He promised He would bring their descendants back. Then God did the impossible, gathering the Jews back to the land of Israel, centuries after their nation had been destroyed.
The evidence of God’s hand in returning the Jews to their land is overwhelming. God then protected them from overwhelming forces that attempted to drive them from the land in two wars. Through these wars, God returned more of their land to their possession. Nothing like this had ever happened before.
Yet, despite this, the nations, including its most prominent supporter, the U.S., have been pressuring Israel to give away its God-given land in exchange for a promise of peace.
This occurrence was foreseen. The prophet Joel prophesied that the nations would divide Israel’s land and that in the end times, God would judge these nations ( Joel 3:2).
How can we expect to prosper when we oppose the covenant of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?
Unfortunately, President Biden has followed his predecessors in this disastrous policy.
So what was the transgression that caused this tremendous disaster?
Prime Minister Lapid Appeases U.S. Democrats
On September 21st, President Biden gave a speech at the UN, affirming his support for a two-state solution in Israel.
In this speech, he stated that a two-state solution would “give the Palestinians a state to which they are entitled.” (“Entitled” comes from the root word title, denoting ownership)
The audacity of this statement in light of God’s covenant with Israel is astounding. It is like poking God in the eye. How could we expect not to be rebuked?
Furthermore, the belief that Israel can exchange its land for peace is folly. President Bush’s initiative to pull Israeli residents out of Gaza proves this folly, as Hamas now fires missiles at Israel from the communities Isreal surrendered.
The day after Biden’s speech, on the 22nd, Israeli Prime Minister Lapid gave his speech at the UN, also announcing his support for the two-state solution. In stating this, Lapid reversed the policy held by his recent predecessors, who believed the two-state solution was unworkable. Why did Lapid do this?
Lapid and Naftali Bennett have shared their time in the Prime Minister position after forming their party’s government. According to an article in the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA), Lapid and Bennett had agreed to keep the two-state policy off the table to hold together the left-to-right coalition they led. Now that that coalition has lost its majority in the Knesset, Lapid apparently acquiesced to appease other influencers, namely the U.S.
This change in policy was not supported by Bennett. According to JTA, former Prime Minister Bennett criticized Lapid’s leaked plans ahead of the speech. And he further noted that Lapid’s motivation for the policy change was to not alienate U.S. Democrats.
After the speech, Biden tweeted his endorsement.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau then followed suit with his tweeted endorsement.
Then disaster struck.
The Cost of Opposing God’s Covenant
Throughout this series, I have linked U.S. disasters to its opposition to the Abrahamic Covenant based on three primary criteria:
1) The disaster must start to manifest within a short time after the opposition event.
2) The disaster must be historic; a top storm, a record breaker, or a rare event for the location.
3) The event must affect land owners through damaged/destroyed houses and/or evacuations.
The timing, in this case, was astounding.
The Atlantic hurricane season had been relatively quiet this year, with no hurricanes up to that point. But on September 21st, the same day President Biden gave his speech and Lapid informed Bennett of his decision, the Washington Post reported “a sudden awakening of tropical storm activity in the Atlantic.”
On that day, Fiona, the first hurricane of the Atlantic season, intensified into a Category 4 hurricane. This storm was destined for Canada.
The Post also noted a more significant concern, a disturbance that looked poised for rapid intensification. This disturbance would soon become Ian.
Then on September 23rd, the day after Lapid gave his speech and Biden and Trudeau celebrated his decision, Ian formed into a tropical storm. Even then, Ian was forecasted to become a major hurricane with its sites set on Southwest Florida.

Both storms are now in the record books with disastrous results.
Fiona Breaks Records in Canada
In this series of posts, I have mainly focused on the U.S. But when I saw a headline in the Jerusalem Post that stated, Biden, Trudeau, Welcome Lapid’s Statement on the Two-State Solution, I wondered if Canada would be impacted as well. It was.
Fiona became the strongest storm (as measured by central pressure) to hit Canada in its history, striking Nova Scotia on the 24th. Winds, storm surge, and flooding damaged homes and caused evacuations, which were hindered by wash-out roads.
Nova Scotia reported a central pressure of 931.6 mb according to the Canadian Hurricane Centre of Environment Canada. This value crushed Canada’s previous record of 940.2 mb, set in 1977.
Here are some pictures of Fiona’s destruction as reported on Twitter.
Hurricane Ian Devastates Southwest Florida
Hurricane Ian struck Southwest Florida on September 27th as a powerful Category 4 storm. The storm was only a few mph under Category 5 (>157 mph), reaching 155 mph at sea and 150 mph upon hitting land. According to Fox News, its 150 mph winds and 940 mb pressure make Ian the fourth most powerful storm to hit Florida.
2.5M Floridians were ordered to evacuate as the storm advanced. However, with a track predicted to make landfall around Tampa, many residents of South Florida remained and were present for the brunt of the storm.
The damage to homes and property is astounding.
A recent estimate by disaster modeling firm Karen Clark & Company places the damages “well over $100 billion’’ in damages, including $63B of losses privately insured. That would place the storm in the top three costliest storms of all time and potentially be more costly than Hurricane Andrew, even in normalized dollars.
The Connection to Covenant
I realize that this is a difficult topic for many people. We know God is loving and gracious, but he is also just and punishes wrongdoing. The core criteria to discern any potential move of God is to see if it aligns with scripture.
God keeps His covenants, and He enforces His covenants.
As part of God’s covenant with Abram (before given name Abraham), God told him, “And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse.” – Genesis 12:3
We know that and the end of this age, God will “enter into judgment” for those who had “divided up My land.” – Joel 3:2
We also know that at the end of this age, those who try to “lift it [Jerusalem] will be severely injured.” – Zechariah 12:3
God’s covenant with Isreal is an everlasting covenant (1 Chronicles 16:17). And “God’s judgments are in all the earth” – (1 Chronicles 16:14).
Furthermore, the Bible further tells us that “he who touches you [Zion], touches the apple [pupil] of His [God’s] eye.” (Zechariah 2:8-9).
The manifestation of judgment against those who try to divide up Israel’s land is real. And as long as Presidents ignore this, judgment will surely come upon the land.
History demonstrates a strong correlation between U.S. infringement upon God’s land covenant with Abraham and imminent natural disasters. I have documented over forty such occurrences over the past 31 years and explained them in the below posts.

Excellent article, thank you for including information about past storms coinciding with US interference in dividing Israel. I have been wanting to research this and you saved me a lot of searching. I have a couple of friends who live in Florida one who lives in Winter haven and one in Miami, haven’t heard anything from either one yet if they are safe, please remember them in your prayers along with everyone else.
Thanks Chris! Great point about praying for those affected. I prayed for your friends.
