With the Department of Defense preparing a report to Congress on UFOs, Christians must understand how UFOs and extraterrestrials fit into the Biblical worldview to avoid and end-times UFO deception.

UFOs Shifting from Fringe to Mainstream
Sightings of UFOs/UAPs have long been a phenomenon on the fringe of society. These stories of UFOs, aliens, and abductions seem too strange for most people to accept as real. But the significant numbers of verified sightings are too numerous and consistent to ignore.
Recently leaked videos taken by Naval pilots and sailors prove that the government knows this phenomenon is real. And they are concerned about the intrusion into their airspace. With the Department of Defense about to deliver an unclassified report to Congress on UFOs, is acceptance of UFOs and belief in exterritorial life about to shift from fringe to mainstream?
If this happens, it will challenge the public’s view of the world and the universe. Atheists will decree this as proof that the Bible is false while the general public will seek answers.
Could this be the beginning of a new age of understanding about the universe, or are we about to be led into a UFO deception?
Will Christians know the difference?
More importantly, what will happen if we don’t?
Identifying a UFO Deception
If the government confirms the existence of UFOs, there will be ramifications. Many people may fall into New Age beliefs in seeking answers, and even Christian believers may reframe their understanding of God.
Deception will only grow during the end of this age. So in these times, how do we guard against falling for delusions?
The only way to protect ourselves from falsehood is to hold to a Biblical worldview based on scripture. The Bible must be the filter through which we incorporate new information about the world, or galaxy, around us. Without this foundation, our views are subject to shift as societal norms change. In this way, we would all be at risk of falling for a UFO deception.
So what does the Bible have to say about UFOs and extraterrestrial life?
Aliens Described in the Bible?
I can find no substantiated scriptural reference that describes the existence of extraterrestrials from other planets. In preparing this post, I found claims that Ezekiel’s vision of God’s throne and Elijah’s horse-drawn chariot to heaven are evidence of UFOs. However, this assertion is contrary to the scriptural context and is inconsistent with the overall body of scripture.
I’ve also found Christian writers claim that Jesus’ reference to “sheep of another fold” may have not just included gentiles, but extraterrestrials. Once again, this interpretation is out of context and twists Jesus’ meaning. Jesus’ reference to “becoming one flock with one shepherd” is consistent with Paul’s analogy of the grafted branches of the olive tree, which clearly refers to the Jews and the gentiles. While people may try to jam their beliefs into scripture, there is no body of scripture that points to extraterrestrial life.
However, the Bible clearly describes heavenly beings that interact with the people on earth.
The names given to these heavenly beings change depending on the writer in the Bible. Genesis 2 describes them as hosts, Daniel describes them several times as watchers, and Moses describes them as sons of God in Genesis 6 and Job.
So where would these creatures that we think of as aliens fit into the beings described in the Bible?
Deceptive Beings Described in the Bible
In Ephesians 6, Paul describes an order to the ranks of heavenly beings under Satan that fight against us.
- Rulers (archas) – these beings’ names imply that they were first, not only in the hierarchy but possibly in creation. These may be those referred to in Psalm 82, those in God’s “own congregation” whom He called “gods” and “sons of the Most High” but would “fall like the princes” and “die like men.”
- Authorities (exousias) – this word connotes delegated empowerment. These beings have the delegated authority to carry out the orders of the rulers. It is also possible that rulers and authorities are describing the same beings.
- Cosmic[worldly] powers (kosmokratoras) of Darkness – these are angelic powers over worldly affairs. Kósmos refers to an ordered system such as the world or universe. This phrase implies a hierarchy with principalities or princes (Daniel 10) at a higher level with levels of demons below.
- Spiritual [forces] (pneumatika) of Wickedness in the Heavenly Places – These spirit beings operate higher than people in the heavenly places. This description best described the type of beings we associate with aliens.
Although these are spiritual beings, they have the ability to adapt to a physical form, even change their appearance.
In fact, we see numerous accounts in the Bible of angels appearing in the physical form of man. One such account occurred after Jesus’ resurrection. Some witnesses described men in brilliant clothes in the empty tomb, while some described them as angels. Paul even tells us that some people have entertained angels without even knowing it.
There are even Biblical accounts of spiritual beings whose activities closely resemble the activities of reported aliens today.
“Aliens” in the Bible
Interestingly, reports of aliens seem to match a group of fallen heavenly beings of the past.
The Bible states that in Noah’s day, some angelic beings fell, embracing rebellion and even carnal desires. (Genesis 6, Jude 1:6, 1 Cor. 6:3). Genesis 6 tells how some of the sons of God mated with human women, producing the hybrid Nephilim. It also states that this activity continued in later times. While some of these angels were imprisoned, according to the apocryphal book of Jubilees (10:7-9), God allowed Satan to retain a remnant (10%) of these angels to tempt man until the time of Satan’s judgment.
This description is very similar to accounts of alien abductions, which many times focus on the human reproductive systems and the collection of biological samples. Some reported abductees even claim to have given birth to hybrid children.
Is it possible that the things we associate with UFOs and aliens are really a manifestation of these fallen creatures?
Avoiding an End-Times UFO Deception
At the end of this age, the Antichrist and False Prophet will deceive many. Authors Thomas Horn and Cris Putnam even assert that an alien and UFO deception will be part of the Antichrist’s great deception. Moreover, they convincingly document how the Vatican appears to be expecting such an alien visitation.
So as the government releases more information about these unidentified objects, filter these revelations through the Bible. There is no evidence that these occurrences are something new that the Bible omitted. These creatures are the fallen heavenly beings described in the Bible, and their goal is the corruption and deception of the human race.
The only way to avoid this UFO deception is to hold to a Biblical worldview. This is the strong foundation. When discussing false prophets, Jesus compared a man who builds his house on a rock foundation to a man who builds on sand. When the floods come, only one house will stand.
In Part II, I will discuss the connection of reported UFOs and the tales of old.
I agree. Now’s the time to firm up our understanding of aliens, not after they’ve wowed us into submission.
To that end, I made this video called “The Strangest Day in UFO History.”

Thanks Lynne. I enjoyed your video and how thorough your report was. If there is one thing I can say about the UFO and alien phenomenon, is that it reeks of deception.
