The Trump presidency fits the paradigm of King Josiah in many ways, presenting clues to his loss in the election, Biden’s and Harris’ presidential destiny, and judgment to come

President Trump and King Josiah

Last November, I was in prayer concerning the election outcome when King Josiah came to mind.

Josiah ruled in a time of impending judgment. The former King, Manasseh, had defied God’s law, and so God promised to turn Judah over to its enemies as the penalty for his evil ways. (2 Kings 21:10-15)

But King Josiah discovered God’s law, repented, and aggressively destroyed the prior king’s evil works. As a result, God withheld judgment for a time.

Like King Josiah, President Trump came in a time of impending judgment as signaled by the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Like King Josiah, President Trump succeeded a ruler who defied God’s laws. And like Josiah, President Trump came to know God during his term and implemented laws according to His laws, reversing his predecessor’s works.

Why is this comparison meaningful? Jewish prophecy is not a western model of prediction and outcome, but rather one of patterns and paradigms. A Biblical event can set a prophetic pattern or paradigm that may be repeated throughout history.

So if President Trump’s term echoed King Josiah’s reign, what could that tell us about his downfall, the destiny of his successors, and the judgment to come?

A Similar Stage was Set for Josiah and Trump

King Josiah reigned after King Manasseh and his son Amon, whose brief rule was an extension of the practices of Manasseh. Manasseh embraced the culture and traditions of the peoples outside of Israel and worshipped their gods. Among his abominations, he rebuilt the altars to foreign gods and the houses of male cult prostitutes and made his sons pass through the fires of Molech. Manasseh even placed a foreign idol in the temple. (2 Kings 21:2-7)

These types of abominations still exist today in the form of celebrating homosexual practices, supporting child sacrifice (abortion), embracing foreign gods, and denying the holiness of the temple mount to the Jews.

During his term, President Obama championed these same causes – homosexual rights, transgenderism, and abortion, all at the cost of religious freedom. Though he claimed to be a Christian, his statements reflected a pluralist view, equating the Judeo-Chrisitan God to Islam’s god. And his actions appeared to favor Islamic claims to Jerusalem over Israel, as demonstrated by abstaining from a UNESCO vote that ignored the Jewish roots of the Temple Mount.

These policies stood against God’s law, and it seemed that the country was running towards judgment. Only a radical change agent modeled after King Josiah could forestall judgment.

A Radical Successor Comes

President Trump and the Josiah Paradigm

King Josiah was like a bulldozer to the works of Manasseh. Josiah didn’t just reverse his practices; he boldly destroyed them. He burned the altars in the high places, smashed memorial stones to dust, and slaughtered the priests of the high places. In his zeal, he removed the foreign influence on Judah and reversed the past Kings’ works.

As King Josiah was a bulldozer to Manasseh’s legacy, President Trump was to Obama’s. Like King Josiah, President Trump disregarded foreign influence and the globalist approach of his predecessor.

On this issue of abortion, he permitted states to defund Planned Parenthood, prohibited abortion funding overseas, and appointed pro-life federal judges to life term seats. On transgenderism, President Trump reversed policies to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms/locker rooms of their choice and barred transgender people from the military.

In these ways, when choosing between sexual freedom over religious freedom, President Trump protected religious freedom.

Finally, just as King Josiah restored the temple in Jerusalem, President Trump proclaimed Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Jews.

I expected that with such a pro-God agenda, God would bless President Trump to serve a second term. But his potential eight-year service was cut in half just as King Josiah’s reign was cut short.

So, could King Josiah’s end offer some clues to President Trump’s loss?

President Trump’s Loss Explained by King Josiah

King Josiah’s reign ended prematurely in battle. Josiah came against Egypt when Pharaoh Neco was battling Assyria at the Euphrates. Neco sent word to Josiah that God had ordered his military campaign and not to interfere or God would destroy him. Yet, Josiah ignored this warning and came against Neco in secret, only to be shot by his archers.

Is it possible that like Josiah, President Trump was fighting a fight that God did not grant him to fight?

In the Bible, Egypt spiritually represents bondage, idolatry, and immorality. Who was it that President Trump fought against that represents spiritual Egypt? Was it the far left, the squad, the media? It’s hard to say. But if President Trump followed the Josiah archetype, he would have been warned not to pursue the fight but fought it anyway.

Will the paradigm end with President Trump? We may soon find out. For if this paradigm continues, Trump’s immediate successor will be removed by this same opponent.

The Biden Succession

After King Josiah’s death, the “people of the land” made his son, Joahaz, the king. We can presume from the Bible that the people wanted to go back to the old ways because Joahaz practiced the same evil as his ancestors (2 Kings 23:30-32).

Similarly, the “people of the land” appointed Biden as President Trump’s successor, choosing to go back to the old ways. Like Joahaz, Biden immediately returned to the ways of Obama. In his first days, he issued more executive orders than any President before him, reinstating the immoral programs Present Trump had reversed.

He went back to supporting the transgender agenda and restarting abortion funding in the U.S. and overseas. He has turned away from Israel, reinstating Palestinian relations and taking steps to appease Iran, all while avoiding any conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu.

So far, Biden seems to fit the archetype of Joahaz. However, Joahaz’s reign was brief, cut short by the same Pharoah who defeated Josiah. Could this paradigm continue with President Biden?

A Harris Succession?

While the people chose Joahaz, the Egyptian Pharoah Neco wanted Joahaz’s brother, Eliakim, to be king. Neco deposed Jaohaz and installed Eliakim as king, renaming him Jehoiakim.

Could President Biden’s presidency also be cut short? While Biden was considered electable compared to other far-left candidates, he was not the preferred choice for the left. They would have preferred candidates like Kamala Harris over Biden. Is it possible that the same spiritual Egypt that Trump fought could depose Biden?

There has been a lot of press lately about removing a sitting President determined to be unfit for reasons such as health. When President Trump caught COVID-19, Nancy Pelosi tried to push new legislation to give Congress more ability to remove a President. Pelosi insisted this was “not about President Trump,” but “applies to future presidents.”

Could the far left use such a process to depose President Biden and replace him with Vice President Harris?

If (and I emphasize “if”) this biblical paradigm continues, the left would depose President Biden and replace him with Kamala Harris just as Neco replaced Joahaz with Jehoiakim.

What would happen then? If the Biblical paradigm continues, just as Jehoiakim committed abominations, so would Kamala Harris, preparing the way for judgment.

Enemies to Come

Under Jehoiakim, Judah finally met judgment when God sent Babylon against it. Likewise, judgment against America under a possible Harris administration may also come in the form of enemy attacks.

Enemies have already attacked U.S. interests overseas including its embassies, military bases, and naval ships. Enemies have also attacked our computer systems and succeeded in a massive breach of government systems in 2020 including the Pentagon and Departments of Defence and Homeland Security. Under judgment, attacks could extend to U.S. space satellites, domestic infrastructure, and America’s coastline such as its naval bases (e.g. Pearl Harbor and 9/11). (See The First American Idol and the Hidden Warning of the Enemy to Come – Part II for insight into this topic)

If President Trump truly followed the archetype of King Josiah, America’s enemies may have been forestalled for a time. We can watch and see if this Josiah paradigm ended with the Biden election, or continues to play out. If Biden doesn’t finish his term, it may be a sign that judgment is at hand.
