As prophesied, the war of Gog and Magog against Israel will include an alliance between Turkey and Iran. Recent events have solidified this alliance foretold in the Bible.

As discussed in the posts Antichrist Alliances of the Middle East Forming and QT – Antichrist Alliances – Turkey Further Entrenches in Libya we are seeing the alliances and rivalries foretold in Daniel 11 and Ezekiel 38 forming before our eyes.
Ezekiel 38, known as the War of Gog and Magog describes an alliance led by the antichrist against Israel. The antichrist from the region of Turkey, leads the alliance that includes Iran, Libya, Sudan and others. This alliance is also opposed by Egypt and its allies as described in Daniel 11.
With the alliance of Turkey and Libya recently forming, we are also seeing a Turkey and Iran alliance grow.
An Alliance of Destiny
The Jerusalem Post just published this article, Turkey and Iran work together on Iraq and Libya, is Israel next?. The article describes increasing aligning of interests and coordination between Iran and Turkey.
Here is a very recent example.
You may have heard of Turkey’s recent airstrikes against the Kurds along the border of Iraq. The article discloses how Turkey and Iran coordinated on these airstrikes. According to the article, the goal of these joint operations are to “increase Turkey’s bases in northern Iraq’s Kurdish region and to try to cut off the Kurdistan Workers Party from Iran’s border.”
Two days before this strike, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. The article notes that this is a very high-level meeting in this COVID-19 age.
As proposed in the article, this meeting aimed to strengthen the alliance. In allying, Turkey gets support against the Kurds and possibly support for its position in Libya. Iran, in exchange receives sanctions relief through trade with Turkey.
I recently wrote a post entitled, QT – Revisiting Soleimani’s Death, Daniel 8 and Breaking the Power of Iran. As noted in this post, after the U.S. killed Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s influence in the middle-east was hit hard. Events now occurring in the Middle-East evidence this impact.
With its influence waning, economic decline, sanctions and COVID-19, Iran needs more allies. It now needs an ally like Turkey.
Areas of Alignment Between Turkey and Iran
Sunni majority Turkey and Shia Iran have found more in common lately than in opposition. Here are some of their common interests:
- Opposition to the U.S. role in Syria
- Trade to avoid U.S. sanctions
- Fighting the Kurds on the borders of Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria
- Close relationship with Hamas
- Rivalry with Saudi Arabia
- Cooperation with Russia
But more than any other factor, it is their hostility towards Israel that bonds them together.
How will a Turkey Iran Alliance Respond the Israeli Annexation?
If and when Israel annexes part of the West Bank, the whole world will respond. Almost every country will voice it’s position.
The response of the world to Israel demonstrates the importance of Israel as nation. What other country would attract the kind of uproar that will come from annexing a few miles of land?
Did the world roar when Russia annexed Crimea? No.
Is the U.N issuing resolution after resolution against Turkey becuase they are bombing the Kurds? No.
So why does the world care so much about Israel?
Because God has plans and promises for Israel’s future and His people. And satan, who is the “god of this world,” opposes those plans.
So if and when Israel annexes portions of the West Bank, Turkey and Iran will spit fire. They will be the strongest voices of any country against Israel becuase of their hatred. These events will be the seeds that stir the anger of the antichrist.
As Daniel 11 states, “…his heart will be set against the holy covenant, and he will take action…”
Then two lines later it states, “He will… become enraged at the holy covenant and take action…”
What this Means in Context of the End-Times
This alliance of the largely Sunni nation of Turkey and Shia nation of Iran is only happening now as we near the return of Christ. These alliances and rivalries are the lining up with biblical prophecy; a sign that the end-times are here.
Prepare your hearts and prepare for the lawlessness and the persecution that is to come.
“so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.“
