I previously suggested the U.S. killing of Qassem Soleimani follows the Daniel 8 paradigm and shattered the power of Iran. Recent news about Iran’s waning influence further supports this theory.

In my previous post, Does Soleimani Death Meet the Daniel 8 Paradigm, I suggested a connection between the U.S. killing Soleimani and Daniel 8. Even though Daniel 8 appears fulfilled by past events, the angel Gabriel told Daniel that this prophecy relates to the end-times.
The key to this mystery is that Jewish prophecy is based in patterns or paradigms. Though Daniel 8 appears largely fulfilled, its prophecy can act as a paradigm for future events.
This prophecy tells of a male goat from the west breaking Persia’s power and authority. In reading news articles about Soleimani’s killing, I was astounded to come across many concepts that matched Daniel 8, even the same words.
The above-mentioned post fully presents this information, so for the sake of brevity, I won’t repeat it here.
Becuase Daniel 8 describes the loss of power and influence of the Persian Empire, we can test my theory by looking at the events that have followed Soleimani’s death. If his death fits the paradigm of Daniel 8, then we would expect to see Iran’s power wane in the region.
News of Iran’s Waning Influence in Iraq Without Soleimani
For starters, we are starting to see Iraq pull away from Iran’s influence. As the U.S. military withdrew from Iraq, Iran-supported militias, also known as Popular Mobilization Units (PMUs) infiltrated Iraq. Now, the new government in Iraq is acting to cut-off the Iranian influence on these militias.
Below are articles testifying to this effect.
- MEMRI March 19th: Anti-Iran Political Forces In Iraq Move To Free Iraq From Decade-Long Submission To Iranian Hegemony
- “Iran’s network of influence in Iraq has taken a beating over the past two days as four major Shi’ite factions announced their withdrawal from the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Units (PMU)”
- MEMRI June 8th: Iraq On The Path Of National Recovery From Iranian Hegemony – Part III: The First 30 Days
- Prime Minister Al-Kadhimi ‘visited PMU general headquarters. There he delivered a brief but firm speech, published in full by his office, informing the PMU leaders that they are now subordinate to the Iraqi government, and that their sole source of religious authority is Ayatollah Al-Sistani – that is, not Iranian ayatollahs. From this point forward, he stressed several times, the activity of the militias would be limited to the war against ISIS.”
- Post Publishing Update – The Jerusalem Post June 26th: 24 Hours of War in the Middle East Leaves Region Shaking
- “Overnight between Thursday and Friday, an unprecedented raid by the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service struck at Iranian-backed militias in Iraq.”
News of Iran’s Waning Influence in Syria without Soleimani
We are also seeing evidence of Iran pulling back in Syria after relentless bombings by Israel.
- Times of Israel May 5th: Defense officials: Iran pulling out of Syria as Israel pummels its forces there
- “Iranian forces are pulling out of Syria and closing military bases there, Israeli defense officials said Tuesday, amid increasing reports of Israeli airstrikes on Iran-linked militias in the country in recent months”
Hints of Change in Lebanon
Lebanon has not fallen away from Iran yet, but there are early indications of potential change. There have been significant protests there for government change and a move away from Hizbullah. Also, with Iran’s serious economic woes (largely brought on by President Trump) Lebanon is starting to warm up to China for funding.
- MEMRI April 26th: Lebanese Druze Leader Walid Jumblatt: We Say “No” to Becoming Like Syria, Iraq; We Reject Iranian Influence
- “We say ‘no’ to becoming like Syria and Iraq. China is different. If only we could be like China. If only… But the model of Syria, Iraq and Iran is a failure.”
Early indications are that Iran’s power and authority in the region may have indeed been broken following the killing of Soleimani.
This is an important implication of Daniel 8. Because Iran must fall back in order for a new power to rise. This new power becomes the beast of Revelation, headed by a resurrected Ottoman Empire and led by the antichrist.
